Qingyan Weirong Inter-city rail, the first regional intercity high-speed railway in Shandong Province with steel strands and wires supplied by our company, was officially opened to traffic

Qingdao North railway station of the Qingdao Rongcheng Inter-city rail has been built as a separate project. Yantai railway station is an existing station, and Chengyang, Laixi, Laiyang and Weihai stations are reconstructed as existing stations. The recommended design speed for the speed target value of Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway is 250 km/h, and 300 km/h is reserved for the works under the main line of Qingrong.

On August 28, 2008, the Ministry of Railways (China Railway Corporation) and the Shandong Provincial Government signed the Minutes of Meeting on Issues Related to Accelerating Railway Construction in Shandong Province. It was determined that the two sides should jointly fund the construction of the Qingdao Yantai Weirong Inter-city rail, and the project capital should be arranged at 50% of the total investment, The compensation fees for land acquisition and demolition shall be recognized by both parties as capital and included in Shandong Province's shares. The total investment of the project is estimated to be 33.39 billion yuan, of which 3.3 billion yuan is the purchase cost of Multiple unit. The funds other than capital funds are borrowed from domestic banks.

At about 3:00 p.m. on August 25, 2014, there were a lot of people at the west entrance of Beishan Tunnel, Beitou, Xishan, Jianggezhuang Town, Muping District, Yantai City, because the whole Qingrong main line of the high-profile Qingdao Weirong Inter-city rail will be paved and closed here. As the last 500 meter long steel rail landed steadily on the sleeper, the workers smoothly closed and docked the screws with the closure opening, marking the full completion of the 592 kilometer track laying on the Qingrong Main Line. At 5:35 a.m. on September 16, 2014, after two 15 hour blockades, the first Inter-city rail in Shandong Province, Qingdao Yantai Weirong Inter-city rail, was precisely connected with Qingdao–Jinan railway. The successful insertion of extra long turnout this time will integrate Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway into the national high-speed railway transportation network through Qingdao–Jinan railway. 

On December 28, 2014, Qingrong Intercity opened intercity trains in the directions of Jinan, Yantai, Weihai, and Rongcheng.
